CNC LATHE Operator / Machinist

Working in our well-equipped machine shop, the role will involve setting up and operating CNC lathes and machining centres. Production runs are generally fairly short, with a wide variety of components and materials, including bar work and castings.

  • Loading and setting tools
  • Setting fixtures
  • Loading and running components
  • Checking components against drawings
  • Monitoring tool wear and maintaining offsets
  • De-burring components
  • Good engineering background
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Able to set and operate a variety of CNC machines (lathes/mills)

Manual Machinist

Working in our well-equipped machine shop, the role will involve manufacture of one-off and low volume parts, and working with the Engineering Team on development parts.

  • Good engineering background
  • Manual machining experience; milling and turning
  • Experience using measuring equipment
  • Experience inspecting parts using micrometers/verniers etc.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to produce parts in a variety of different materials; mild steel,
    stainless steel, brass, plastics and nickel cast iron
  • Ability to produce parts safely, accurately and efficiently
  • Organised, flexible, reliable & a good team player
  • Minimum at least 3 years’ experience
  • Cylindrical grinding experience would be desirable

Turbo Assembly Technician

We are looking for a Turbo Assembly Technician to work alongside our existing team within our Turbo Department based in Northampton. This job role would suit someone who is technically minded, computer literate with good communication skills.

The role encompasses all aspects of turbocharger assembly and re-manufacture to a consistent high
standard to meet the demands of the company.

  • Disassembly, inspection and cleaning of turbocharger components
  • Carrying out the full turbocharger remanufacture process, including VSR vibration testing, VNT flow testing and actuator calibration
  • Building hybrid performance OEM upgrade turbochargers
  • Use of department computer to record calibration data and check stock locations
  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English (Grade C or above)
  • Possess a high level of manual dexterity and excellent attention to detail
  • We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking and willing to learn
  • Self-motivated, flexible, reliable, with a keen interest in problem solving
  • Able to follow company policies and procedures
  • Experience of working in a mechanical / engineering / automotive environment would be preferable but not essential, as all training will be provided by an experienced Technician

Semi-Skilled Machinist

Admin Assistant

The role primarily involves a wide range of admin tasks to assist the smooth processing of Company activities. The scope of the role can be developed as proficiency of the post holder grows.

  • Act as first point of contact for front desk enquiries, answer the phone during busy periods with a professional, helpful and friendly manner
  • Direct daily incoming and outgoing post. Manage all stationery, including liaising with wider team members, ordering and stock management
  • Assist all teams as required with necessary data cleanse in prep for new system implementation and assist with data management maintenance thereafter
  • Obtain quotations and organise machine shipments for Turbo and VSR sales as directed
  • Create and manage all machine export paperwork and appropriate data entry and management within CRM
  • Have a good awareness of customer product documentation to facilitate efficient brochure ordering and management
  • Assist with confidential internal HR management such as collating holiday requests and producing sickness absence reports for managers
  • General assistance with organising of refreshments purchases and assisting with acting as a host when visitors are on site
  • Assist with preparation for local and international automotive shows, including travel arrangements and marketing literature
  • Proven experience in a wide range of admin functions
  • The ability to multitask without feeling unduly pressured
  • Good IT skills – Microsoft Office, especially Word / Excel
  • Experience of CRM database
  • Must be able to work on own initiative, have good attention to detail, and be able to work without supervision when required
  • Develop proactive relationships with all team members

Software Developer – C#

Working to a software requirements specification, the role will include the ground-up development of the operating software for the next generation of Turbo Technics turbocharger test equipment.

  • The software development will include the design of user interface and development of operating cycle and controls sequencing for the machine
  • In addition to writing and developing the code, the software developer will be responsible for the supporting documentation for testing, validation and version control
  • Experience developing code using C# with Visual Studio 2019
  • Experience developing software with user interface for Windows OS based applicationsIdeally, experience of writing software for industrial applications and have knowledge of communications protocols such as RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet and USB
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Understanding of firmware code for PIC microcontrollers
